PALFINGER AG operates a career portal for all companies of the PALFINGER group, which handles all recruitment agendas.

It is of great value for PALFINGER to protect your data. We process your personal information on our career portal exclusively in agreement with the following fundamentals and in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations. The following described privacy policy describes how PALFINGER NORTH AMERICA (“PALFINGER NA”) handles and protects data provided by employment candidates in connection with the recruiting process. Definitions

Candidate Data in the recruiting process is understood to mean all indications that allow a conclusion back to yourself as a person. This includes information such as your name, e-mail address, telephone number, home-address, data of your CV and other documents you provide for the recruiting process.

Processing refers to any action performed on Candidate Data, such as collecting, recording, organizing, storing, transferring, modifying, using, disclosing, or deleting.


Data Collection

You agree that, in addition to collecting Candidate Data directly from you, PALFINGER may collect Candidate Data from third parties, for example, from recruiters, in connection with a background or employment check or an employment reference (subject to your consent where required by law) or, to the extent permitted by law, from a recruiting or other website where you may have provided information about your work experience or interests.

In order to apply for a job at PALFINGER or to use other services on our career portal it is necessary to create an application profile. The profile includes your name, your e-mail address and your country of residence, as well as any other information that is voluntarily provided.

Additionally, you agree to that other data — beside the profile data and information voluntarily provided by you — can be collected and implemented (added) to your account automatically when registering an applicant profile.

Furthermore, you will be asked about the visibility settings for your profile. Depending on your settings the profile can

  1. Serve as the basis only for single applications (Visibility option “Only recruiters managing jobs I apply to”)
  2. Be provided for a direct approach with the option of visibility only for recruiters in my country of residence
        (visibility option “Any company recruiter in my country of residence”)
  3. Or the option of visibility for recruiters all over the world (visibility option “Any company recruiter worldwide”).

The creation of an applicant profile does not yet constitute an application. If you apply for an advertised job, the application contains the information you deposit in your applicant profile as well as other documents and data provided by you. These also contain personal data and will be handled with the appropriate care.


Security and Confidentiality

PALFINGER employs technical and organizational measures designed to protect the integrity, confidentiality, security and availability of Candidate Data, and to comply with applicable legal requirements for information security. PALFINGER limits access to internal systems that hold Candidate Data to individuals who need access for a legitimate business purpose.


Purpose of processing and deleting data

The processing of your application data exclusively takes place in the context of our personnel selection procedures. Usage of the data for other purposes is expressly excluded. PALFINGER processes your data exclusively to the extent permitted by law and as far as it meets your approval.

A deletion or change of the application profile in total or individual information or settings (in particular settings about the visibility of your application profile) in your application profile is possible at all times in the setting options of your profile.

In case of a cancellation of the applicant profile or the revocation of the privacy policy your account information and also all ongoing applications addressed to us will be withdrawn.

The following deletion dates will be applied (the applicant’s country of residence):

If your applicant profile should be available for direct talks by our recruiters, we ask you to ensure that the visibility options have been regulated appropriately (see section “Data Collection”). Via your applicant profile a notification service can be activated. This notification service informs you via e-mail about vacancies advertised at PALFINGER, as far as the match the search criteria specified by you. The search criteria can be adjusted at any time in the options of your applicant profile.


Sale of Candidate Data

PALFINGER does not sell Candidate Data.


Recipient and transmission of data (Sharing with Third Parties)

For purposes of recruiting process, candidate data is shared exclusively with employees of the PALFINGER group. All employees who have access to your data as part of the personnel selection process are bound by data protection and confidentiality. Transmission within the PALFINGER group is only possible with your agreement and transmission to third parties outside the PALFINGER group is excluded. However, we have service partners and service providers who support us in running this platform. We have contracts in place with these partners to ensure the security of your data and to prevent its disclosure to third parties.

In addition, PALFINGER may be required to disclose certain Candidate Data to other third parties (1) as required by law; (2) to protect PALFINGER’s legal rights to the extent authorized or permitted by law; or (3) in an emergency where the health or safety of a candidate or other individual may be endangered. In addition, in the event of a re-organization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, or other transfer or disposition of all or any portion of PALFINGER’s business, PALFINGER may transfer Candidate Data to successor entities or parties.

Rights of the affected

You are entitled to information, correction, blocking or deletion of the data collected by you at any time unless legal requirements preclude this.

You can delete the profile you have created and the associated application documents at any time or request this deletion via the form on our website: Request for information https://www.palfinger.com/en/privacy-policy

In addition, you have the right to contact the data protection officer of PALFINGER AG or the competent supervisory authority if there are any questions about data protection or stored information.

Anti-Discrimination:
PALFINGER will not discriminate against Candidates in the recruiting process for exercising any rights under relevant privacy laws.


You have reviewed this Notice and agree that PALFINGER may process your Candidate Data in accordance with this Notice.

Changes to this Notice

PALFINGER reserves the right to modify this Notice by posting changes to relevant PALFINGER websites. If you submit additional Candidate Data or request to be considered for a PALFINGER position following the effective date of a modified Notice, your Candidate Data will be handled in accordance with the Notice in effect at that time.
