To strengthen our Center of Excellence Digital Manufacturing team in Lengau, we are looking for a working student with a strong interest in AI / Large Language Models to support us in the second half of 2026.

In this internship you will develop an internal chatbot for Global Operations Excellence—connecting existing knowledge (SharePoint, Azure DevOps) with production data (SQL) to support day-to-day decisions and continuous improvement.

September–December 2026 (12–16 weeks)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Connect and curate knowledge sources (central SharePoint, Azure DevOps and similar systems) for chatbot use
Design and build an LLM-based chatbot that answers questions grounded in the available documents (e.g., standard supplier recommendations for new equipment)
Collaborate with ICT to integrate the solution into the global AI platform and governance structure
Enrich the chatbot with operational data (production KPIs, machine signals) via scheduled daily queries from multiple SQL databases (no real-time requirement)
Implement site-based access control and prototype root-cause analysis / improvement recommendations

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Near completion of a bachelor’s degree (or ongoing master’s) in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field
Solid programming skills and experience with data handling; SQL knowledge is a plus
First experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and/or RAG concepts (e.g., embeddings, vector search) is an advantage
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver results
Creative, out-of-the-box thinking with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working in cross-functional teams (operations & ICT)
Very good English skills (spoken and written)

For this position, considering the collective agreement for the metal industry, a gross monthly salary of EUR 1,949.22 is paid on a full-time basis.
