The Director Global Marine After Sales is accountable for the strategic leadership, alignment, and continuous development of PALFINGER Marine’s global After Sales organization. This role drives the transformation toward a customer-centric, efficient, and scalable service model while ensuring strong alignment across Product Lines, Service Execution regions, and corporate functions. Through effective leadership and governance, the position secures consistent service excellence and the sustainable growth of the lifecycle service business. This position will be based at our headquarters in Salzburg, Austria, or at our office in Bergen, Norway.
Your Responsibilities
- Define the Strategic Direction of Marine After Sales: Establish and drive the long‑term vision and priorities for the global After Sales organization, covering lifecycle services such as commissioning and product handover, technical troubleshooting, warranty governance, training, and lifecycle service development.
- Lead and Develop the Global After Sales Leadership Team: Provide leadership to the global After Sales management team, including Product Line After Sales Heads, the Marine Training Center, and After Sales Business Development, ensuring clear accountability, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous capability development.
- Develop the Global Marine After Sales Organization: Establish and continuously improve scalable organizational structures, standardized processes, and clear roles and responsibilities across core areas such as technical support, commissioning standards, warranty management, and service capability development.
- Drive After Sales Business Development and Training: Develop new service concepts and business models such as uptime solutions, upgrades and modifications, 24/7 service concepts, subscription models, and value‑added lifecycle services, while advancing the Marine Training Center as a modern training and experience platform for both internal competence development and customer training.
- Ensure Cross‑Functional Alignment and Global Performance Management: Act as the senior interface between After Sales, Product Lines, Service Execution regions, Engineering, and corporate functions while steering global performance through clear KPIs, continuous improvement initiatives, and a strong focus on service quality and customer satisfaction.
Your Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, combined with extensive experience in global service, After Sales, or lifecycle management within the marine, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery sectors.
- Proven track record in leading and developing international teams and managing senior stakeholders within a global matrix organization.
- Strong expertise in lifecycle service business, including commissioning, technical troubleshooting, warranty management, service operations, and training in complex technical environments.
- Demonstrated success in driving organizational transformation, implementing change initiatives, and establishing scalable service structures and governance frameworks.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders and effectively communicate with senior management, product lines, and service organizations globally.

Minimum yearly gross salary according to the Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 66.740,94 based on full-time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conforming overpayment.
